PROJECTS

The Kiwanis Club of LBI is involved in many community events and partners with organizations to help maintain the Long Beach Island Way of Life.  Our regular club projects include:

  Key Clubs

Key Club is the high school organization sponsored by Kiwanis International.  Key Club assists Kiwanis in its mission to serve the children of the world.  High school student members of Key Club perform acts of service in their communities, such as collecting clothing and organizing food drives.  They also learn leadership skill by running meetings, planning projects and holding elected leadership positions at the club, district and international levels.  The Kiwanis Club of LBI supports Key Clubs at Southern Regional High School and at Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Sciences MATES
Together we are building the next generation of community leaders.

Builders Clubs

Builders Club is an international student-led organization that provides members with opportunities to perform service, build character and develop leadership through service to others.  Kiwanis Club of LBI proudly sponsors Builders Clubs at Southern Regional Middle School and All Saints Elementary School.

K-Kids

K-Kids clubs provide elementary school students with their first opportunity to learn about organizing projects that help others by assisting the elderly, raising funds for sports equipment or organizing community food drives.  In big and small ways, they’re changing the world around them, and in the process they, too, are significantly changed.

The Kiwanis Club of LBI is currently in the process of sponsoring a K-Kid Club at the Frog Pond Elementary School in Little Egg Harbor.

THE MAXIMILIAN
Foundation is committed to supporting bona fide programs that address adolescence insecurities through counseling, substance abuse awareness and education.  The Foundation’s focus is to support programs designed to strengthen individuals, build character and confidence so children and adolescents can:

  • Better cope with life challenges
  • Develop strong life skills
  • Learn to believe in themselves

In partnership with the Maximilian Foundation, the Kiwanis Club of LBI is committed to the support of this great organization

Kiwanis and UNICEF have joined together to eliminate the deadly, but highly preventable, maternal and neonatal tetanus disease.  The Kiwanis Club of LBI is recognized as a model club having pledged $30,000 to help acquire the necessary supplies, skilled staff, equipment and transportation to reach mothers and babies in remote areas with little or no access to health care.

Priority One – Young Children

Kiwanis of LBI participates each year in the Kiwanis International Signature project.  The needs of children and families in our community are evaluated then we design a service project, such as reading programs, school supplies, safety programs, etc. to meet those needs.
